We live in a world focused on becoming. Dreams. Aspirations. Expectations. The need to become is a part of every human being’s conditioning. From the moment one arrives in this world, one is on the treadmill of becoming. What do you want to be when you grow up? Now that you have achieved this, what do you want to do next? From childhood, everyone starts setting goals, ever changing, but never ending. To become this, to become that, does not matter what. It could be something materialistic such as becoming a billionaire or spiritual such as becoming enlightened. It’s a process of accumulation, of filling a seemingly endless void, of being in a state of permanent quest, for something that is not here and will be found when we get there. The present becomes a means to achieve the end in the future.
